2019 SMALL WORKS EXHIBIT
2018 July Exhibit
A Missouri native, Zoe Hawk received a BFA from Missouri State University and an MFA in painting from the University of Iowa. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, and included in publications such as New American Paintings, ArtMaze Mag (UK), and JOIA Magazine (Chile). Zoe has attended artist residencies in Ireland, Norway, Belgium, and Qatar, as well as the Women’s Studio Workshop in Rosendale, New York. Hawk’s work investigates the complex experience of coming of age. Her “world of adolescence” houses scenes of girlhood play and gendered social dynamics wherein the familiar, sweet, and innocent are found on closer inspection to contain mystery, mischief, and at times a note of something sinister.
